Ben Bernanke for Federal Chairman

I read a feature story about Ben Bernanke this past weekend. It talked about his job previously as the chairman of the federal reserves. He has to deal a lot with the money in the U.S. government.

Bernanke has served a four year term that is set to end on January 31. He is said to be reappointed and serve a second year term. Colleagues describe Bernanke as "smart, thoughtful, and not an ideologue--the kind of person we need as we work to turn the economy around," said Schumer.

Bernanke has recently started an aggressive public campaign for the Federal Reserve which puts a puts central bank in a more positive light. Although Bernanke has been criticized for not st oping the recession, people seem to have the most faith in him to turn our economy around.

I thought this feature was interesting because it gave you some insight on what's going on in the government right now. It's sad for me to think that people would actually try and blame the economy on one person. Overall, I thought this feature had a lot of good information and filled me in on stuff I wasn't knowledgeable of before.

  1. Steph, it is great when a feature can entertain and inform at the same time. It looks like this feature was a smooth read and also educational about economic issues. Pls provide a link to the story so we can read it too.
