2. After reading the first person essay: The Stalking of Kristin, tell me how you immediately felt after completing this extra-long feature. What made you feel that way?

I felt like the whole situation was unfair. The entire story tells different occasions where Kristin tried to get rid of Mike, yet gives so many instances of how the system of keeping him away did no good.

The story had amazing detail. Throughout, the descriptions really made you connect with Kristin as a real person and not just a character, which I think makes the story harder to cope with. The essay makes you think how many times someone could have spoke up to help her because they had heard the threats Mike made.

The father did an amazing job of telling the story, getting people to know his daughter, and teaching a lesson. He did all of this without making it seem like he was too connected with just this case. He was concerned for other people as well, doing his part in spreading the word, even if it was too late for his own daughter.

The research he did was extraordinary because he dug down to get quotes and stories from everyone in Kristin’s life and everyone that was connected with the case. The details in the dialogue and descriptions of places that he wasn’t even present at proved his research.
