Questions

1. I thought the reading was very helpful in helping me understand the distinctions between different kinds of features. I especially thought the "Epic story" section was helpful to know what kind of questions to ask an interviewee, such as "what do they want?" and "what burden do they carry?" I was also kind of surprised to hear that investigative journalism could be narrative.

2. This feature maddened me, particularly this part, "Tobin also claimed that his office could have taken no action because Kristin was "not the woman in the case we were supervising," which is like saying that probationers in Boston Municipal Court should only take care not to rob the same bank twice." I think it's ridiculous how petty and specific laws/justice officials sometimes are. There should be no excuse for allowing such a deranged individual as Cartier to get away with this abuse. Details of what he did even in his early life really paint a picture for the reader of what kind of person he was.
