What is the effective way to use narrative and dialogue in feature stories? What do we need to ensure we have to include or avoid in using dialogue and narrative?
Effective ways to use dialogue in feature stories is to use it as something to catch the readers eye, keep their attention, and add to the story, not take away from it.
In narratives, writers must remember that there must be a point to their story. They must include detail and have a meaning to the readers.
Writers must always remember the number one rule: show don't tell. Dialogue and details must be so descriptive that the reader has no question to what the author is trying to say, but the author shouldn't just tell it point blank. They should use their senses to show the scene and even the emotions to the readers.
