I Don't Trust You

I look into HER eyes and see emptiness. A black hole and she tells me over and over again;

“It isn’t true!!” her voice shakes.

She begins fidgeting, swaying back and forth. She adverts eye contact, as if her eyes are running away from mine. I want desperately to believe her. But each and every part of gut forbids it. A piece of my soul is gone, and she is the thief.

Not only a thief, but a lying thief. How could I have been so blind?

I turn away shunning her. I feel her cold, self absorbed hands on my shoulder.

“Get OFF me.” I say in a commanding voice. “I’m leaving, this is it, I’m gone for good!”

She still cannot look me in the eye. Never have I felt so betrayed. I turn and begin to march out of the room like a soldier in formation. My new mission is simple. I walk down the stairs and into my car.

There is only one thing that can cure my heart, another slice of margarita pizza.
