Answers to Questions

1. In the profiles section, I learned from the Antarctica example that asking questions that help people relate to the topic they're talking about in different ways, more creative, helps them to talk more openly and relate in new ways. More than just a yes or no question, it allows the person to answer in deeper ways. In the travel writing section, I learned to steer away from unconventional things such as not the big well-known touristy spots. To make things more interesting, I should talk about places to go and things to do that the common person would not know existed in that place to make the story more interesting and also teach readers more about the place than what they are most known for. In the personal essay section, you should develop yourself ("I") as a character and examine yourself from a more outer body experience to develop yourself more as a character. Speak about yourself as if you are not talking about yourself but more like another character to get the full effect across. 2. After reading The Stalking of Kristin, I felt furious. I was so mad that this horrible man got away with so much crime and still in the end, he killed himself, which to me is just another way of him being let off the hook again. He barely had to face any hard time for the terrible things that he did. Another thing that disturbed me was that he talked so openly about his intentions to harm Kristin and nobody really did anything about it. He was just known as this psycho kid and that made it seem okay like he was "just born that way." Scary.
