What is the effective way to use narrative and dialogue in feature stories? What do we need to ensure we have to include or avoid in using dialogue and narrative?
After reading, I've realized that it is really important to set the scene and also use the quotes for emotional impact. I think this is important becuase if you use an effective or emotional quote, it'll really benefit the story. I also liked how the one reading suggested to think about your past 5 conversations and what would have said differently and how you talk and then re-write the conversation.
It is important to avoid using pointless quotes. If you just use a quote to use a quote, or if the quote is something you can easily say, it's worthless and I think it makes the story boring. I also think it is important they pointed out that you should show, not tell and gave the examples that you should never say...
1. I don’t trust you.
2. I love you.
3. Accept me for who I am.
4. We’re in danger.
5. I’m really excited.
