I can hardly breathe. Jumping up and down while waving my arms I am like a marionette with his strings being pulled. Everything around me is a whirlwind of emotions. Mothers crying, fathers hugging, each and every person is in the stands are elated.
My best friend next to me is screaming, “We did it! Were number 1 baby!”
Like a hawk, my eyes are on the field. A dog pile begins on the pitcher mound. This is an evident sign that a championship has just been won. The New Jersey Group 4 champion at that; more emotion has never been shown by teenage boys.
Fans begin piling out of the stands and on the field like ants out of an anthill. Firm handshakes are given to the fathers, and half hearted hugs to the mothers. Light bulbs flash as the moment is captured and stored digitally forever.
“Hunterdon Central is the 2009 State Champion.” The announcer reads over the loudspeaker, his voice resembles God.
I sit, I look around, and I take it all in. I can finally breathe.
